GENEALOGICAL DICTIONARY
Publishing a genealogical dictionary has remained one of the goals of the Association des familles Perron d’Amérique since its inception and a large amount of data has been amassed thus far. In the summer of 2016, on the occasion of the association’s 25th anniversary, the first edition of our Genealogical Dictionary was launched. This body of work contains 11, 377 genealogical files. Each file matches a given individual and includes his or her personal data; his or her name, the names of his or her parents, the name of his or her spouse, as well as the names of their children. When birth, marriage and death dates are submitted, these also appear in the files.
By completing the genealogical questionnaire which appears on this page, you will be helping the person responsible for the dictionary to continue the task of verifying all information received. If you have yet to submit your genealogical data, you can do so now and your family information will be added to the Perron data base. This will ensure that your information will appear in the proper section of future editions of the Genealogical Dictionary.
We suggest that each adult person fill in their own form. You have full freedom of choice in answering; you may choose to fill in some fields and not others.
We assure you that the Association des familles Perron d’Amérique conforms to the demands of the law concerning confidentiality of personal information.
We would like to make this publication as complete as possible and not leave any families out, so to help us collect missing family data, we have created a fillable PDF form that any reader can fill in on their computer screen using free Adobe Reader® software. Most readers will already have this software installed on their computer. Hopefully this approach will make it easier for those families who have not submitted information in the past to do so now. And since the data is submitted electronically, it will certainly ease the task of preparing it for inclusion in the dictionary.
The PDF and Word form can be downloaded by clicking on the following link:
PdfWhen you have opened the form on your computer screen, simply enter your family data in the various fields according to their individual captions. The first time that you open the form you probably won’t have all the information available for entry. In that case, read through the form to see what kind of information can be entered, close it without entering any data, and come back to it once you have gathered together the detailed information on your family.
When you have completed the form with all the data you have available, it can be submitted electronically via your email. Click on the Submit button at the top of the form. This will initiate the sending of a data file containing the information you typed into the form.
When you click on Submit, a window will appear asking you to Select an Email Client along with the following information.
Please indicate the option which best describes how you send email
Choose this option if you currently use an email application such as Microsoft Outlook, Eudora or Mail. An email with the data file attached will be sent automatically to the correct addresses.
Choose this option if you currently use an internet email service such as Yahoo or Microsoft Hotmail. You will then need to save your form to file and return it as an email attachment to these addresses:
perronn@gmail.com
The form has provided space for only five children. Should additional space for children be needed, first submit the form with the data for the first six children, then change the children’s data fields by inserting the data for the missing children, and resubmit.
Proceed similarly if additional space is needed for Brothers and Sisters.
Thanks in advance for your interest and your help!
