More than 125 people responded to the invitation of the organizers (the Provisional Board of Directors). People from all over Quebec and Ontario gathered to meet and talked Perron.

Guests were treated to an exhibition of Perron related collections throughout North America. The boards were of the following themes: La Rochelle, the Peron family, the homestead at L'Ange-Gardien, Vermont and Minnesota, Louisiana, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Yukon Territories, without forgetting the one on the renowned Wilfrid-Henri Perron, founder of W. H. Perron & Cie of Laval, Que. Three maps were displayed: origins of the Perron Ancestors in France, dissemination of the Perrons in North America and repartition of the 27 580 Perrons in Quebec!
General Assembly
Before the introduction, the Provisional President asked Romuald Perron to bless the Association with an appropriate prayer. Then, Denis Perron explained the goals and directions of a family association. Francine Perron briefed the audience on the ancestors who now have Perron descendants.
After the unanimous adoption to « found » the Association, we proceeded to adopt the general rule (No. 1), of the borrowed general rule (No. 2) and of the financial report of the Provisional Board of Direction. The Provisional Board of Direction responded in a question period to the assembly. Later, the participants ratified the actions of the Provisional Board of Direction and congratulated them for work well done.
Then participants elected the first Board of the Association. The first president was Francine Perron.
The Board fixed his choice on: "Vue du perron" (View from the perron). This name represents very well the goals and objectives of a liaison bulletin. It associates the perception of something and also the patronyme. Is it not from the perron that we can see a fact, a gesture, a form... and say it after ?
This name was proposed by René Péron, from Sutton.
The Board fixed his choice on: "Toujours en marche" (Always forwards). This expression means very well what we wait from a motto: a line of conduct, a leitmotiv. This motto combines positivism and going ahead and also has in french a relation with the name Perron. In facts the Harrap's pocket dictionay gives the translation of perron by "steps" and the translation of step by "marche".
The motto was proposed by Claude G. Perron, of Montréal.
